GET TO KNOW THE DESIGNER
Hi, I'm Emily, and here's a bit more information about me.
I specialise in creating wearable art that’s based on my love of observing the world around me. I’m passionate about creating pieces as much by hand as possible; making each piece truly unique and driving home the importance of handcrafted items in a world filled with technology.
Jewellery is possibly one of the most personal art platforms. Jewellery often holds a lot of meaning and its sentimental value far outweighs the value of the materials; this makes it a great platform to tell a story.
Though the designer’s thought process and inspiration is highly important, it’s fascinating to see the way another person views a piece of jewellery. What’s more fascinating is watching someone fall in love with the designer’s story or inspiration because they find a personal link within it. This is why creating a community that surrounds my work is so important.
I want people to value the craftsmanship and thought behind each piece, and not just the intrinsic value, another reason why I blog about my processes and the struggles that come with being a Designer. It’s also the reason why I love to use materials such as aluminium.
