Bespoke Necklace, A Case Study

As you may know, I love working with you to create bespoke pieces. It’s such a special process and it’s an honour for me to be a part of it. If you've ever though about working with me on a custom piece, but want to know more about the process, I hope this helps.

Louise had found me via Instagram in October 2020 and wanted something special for a close friend as a Christmas gift. She absolutely loved the design of the large fluorite pendant, but it wasn’t quite what she was after. She simply sent me a message asking if it would be possible for me to create a custom piece with the same kind of design but smaller and to fit her budget.

A large silver pendant hanging on o moss covered tree. The pendant is teardrop shape with a large oval stone set at the bottom. The stone is Flourite and a pale blue/purple colour. There is a simple frond of leaves going up the right side of the pendant.

Of course, this wasn’t a problem, I loved the idea of making that design on a smaller scale and I wanted to make sure she was getting what she wanted. We then discussed chain length and what size and type of stone she wanted and decided on a gorgeous rainbow moonstone. Once the stone arrived, I sent a photo to check that it was okay, and it was just right.

I made the new pendant and sent a photo to make sure everything was as she wanted. She was so polite in telling me that there were some details she wasn’t happy with and was extremely apologetic. I didn’t have an issue with this as I always want to make sure that my customers are 200% happy with what they are getting. So, I mocked up the changes and sent photos to triply make sure everything was okay. After being given the go ahead, the final pendant was made and was perfect.

A small silver pendant in a brown paper box with a black velvet cushion. The pendant is a small teardrop shape with an oval stone set in the bottom. The stone is clear but shines different colours in the light. There is a small set of three simple leaves going up the right side. The pendant hangas from a simple silver chain.

"I just want to say a big thank you to Emily for making the perfect piece of jewellery for me to give to my friend as a Christmas gift this year. We discussed what I was wanting and Emily worked hard to get it just right for me. It's beautifully finished and took hardly any time at all. I would certainly recommend this independent business to anyone who wants that extra special purchase."

I was so grateful for her honesty, and I always do everything I can to make sure everything is perfect. My customers mean a lot to me and if they aren’t happy, neither am I. Making custom pieces is an absolute joy and knowing she was sending such a special gift really warmed my heart.
